Hancock County Courts
There are three primary courts that serve our community: Superior Court, which oversees real estate, civil and criminal cases, and maintains outer records; Magistrate Court, which handles matters such as bad checks, garnishments, small claims, landlord/tenant disputes, bonds, mediation, and pretrial services; and Probate Court, responsible for issuing marriage and firearm licenses, managing estates, wills, and trusts, overseeing elections, traffic violations, and vital records, as well as processing involuntary commitments.
